Examples of what we do
Discretion & Trust
You won’t find our most exciting and innovative projects here – and for good reason. Many of our customers entrust us with highly sensitive developments and want us to treat them confidentially. For us, this is not a restriction, but a sign of trust and partnership with our customers: your ideas, technologies and competitive advantages remain protected at DITABIS.
What we show you here are selected examples from older projects. They illustrate how we turn an idea into a market-ready product – from development and regulatory approval to series production and long-term product maintenance.
The bottom line: even though we are not allowed to disclose all the details publicly, you can be sure that DITABIS has already brought numerous leading medtech and life science products to market. Perhaps yours will be next?
High-Precision Imaging Solutions
PSP Scanner
Precise imaging for digital dental diagnostics
In digital dentistry, every detail counts. To address this, we further developed a technology perfected over many years at DITABIS for a market leader in the dental industry. The result was this scanning system for reading dental images (PSP) with maximum precision and producing brilliant X-ray images that can be stored long-term.
The device combines optical, electronic and mechanical precision in a compact, low-maintenance design:
- Laser-based readout unit (Class 1 laser) for maximum image sharpness and uniform exposure
- 30 µm pixel size with an effective resolution of 22 line pairs per mm
- Extremely fast scanning process thanks to powerful FPGA programming
- Automatic film feed and ejection with sensor-controlled flap mechanism for safe operation
- Hygiene concept with bite protection, protective films and automatic image deletion after scanning
- Ergonomic control panel with status display and multiple button control – intuitive even without a touchscreen
- Seamless integration into the customer’s existing practice and image management system via a defined software interface
DITABIS was responsible for the complete development of the device – from the laser-optical architecture and mechanics to the electronics, firmware and software integration, right through to certification and series production in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485.
The result: a durable, robust system that ensures precise diagnostics in everyday practice. Developed, manufactured and certified in Germany.
Imaging Machine (Gen 4)
Microscope for high-throughput analyses
When research involves examining thousands of samples simultaneously, more than just good optics are required – perfect system integration is essential.
This modular imaging system enables the automated recording, analysis and management of large amounts of image data in bioscience research and drug development, particularly in the field of zebrafish larvae research.
DITABIS took on the complete industrialisation of essential device components – from precise sample movement to coordinated electronics, control logic and software integration. We also played a leading role in the development of many components and software solutions.
Technical highlights:
- High-resolution fluorescence and bright field imaging with motorised zoom and filter system
- Automated sample lift (XYZ axes) with sub-micrometre positioning accuracy
- Thermally stable architecture for long-term imaging without drift
- Wide range of interfaces (USB, Ethernet, CAN bus) for integration into laboratory automation systems
- Modular structure for easy maintenance, service access and expandability
- Intelligent lighting and camera timing for synchronising complex recording sequences
DITABIS contributed its expertise in mechatronics, electronics and software to create a system that combines reliability, precision and user comfort.
The result is an imaging instrument that enables researchers worldwide to achieve maximum efficiency and significantly improves their daily research work.
Handheld Devices
Digital Dermatoscope
A new approach to skin analysis
This portable dermatoscope enables precise assessment and documentation of skin changes – both in live operation and via stored images. The combination of high-quality optics, modern LED lighting and smart image processing ensures razor-sharp, colour-accurate images – regardless of ambient light or movement.
DITABIS was responsible for the entire technical development: from the optical unit, electronics, firmware and image processing to series production for a German start-up. Particular attention was paid to ergonomics, intuitive operation and clear image display on the integrated screen.
Technical highlights:
- High-resolution camera optics with optimised colour reproduction for precise diagnoses
- Dual-mode view: live and still image display for direct comparative assessment
- Variable illumination with ring-shaped high-CRI LEDs for uniform illumination
- Wireless data transfer and docking solution for easy integration into practice or clinic workflows
- Ergonomic, disinfectable design – developed for everyday clinical use
- ISO 13485-compliant development including risk management and technical documentation
The result: a modern medical device that combines design, usability and technical precision in a portable format – developed and manufactured in Germany.
Cold Plasma Device
Innovative wound treatment
This hand-held medical device uses cold atmospheric plasma to reduce germs on chronic or infected wounds – painlessly, contactlessly and clinically proven. The technology enables rapid disinfection without the use of antibiotics and supports the natural healing process by activating local cell mechanisms.
DITABIS was involved in the technical development and industrialisation of the device – from the electrical control of the plasma to the sensor technology and safety architecture to the preparation for approval.
Technical highlights:
- Atmospheric low-temperature plasma (< 40 °C) for safe application on skin and tissue
- Precisely controlled plasma generation with integrated monitoring of voltage, current and temperature
- Handy, lightweight design for mobile clinical use
- Integrated safety shut-offs in case of deviations from operating parameters
- Electronics and firmware design for reproducible plasma quality and safe operation
The result: an innovative therapy device that transforms state-of-the-art plasma technology into a safe, user-friendly medical device.
Therapy Devices
Magnetic Field Therapy For Animals
Supporting regeneration and well-being
Imagine: your veterinary or equine clinic has a system that uses pulsating magnetic fields to support healing processes in animals – from muscle and tendon injuries to back and joint problems to regeneration after exertion. This therapy device was developed specifically for our customer’s everyday veterinary practice.
DITABIS was responsible for the entire technical implementation – from hardware development with power electronics and magnetic field generator, to the modern touch panel including user-friendly GUI, to series production. The result is a robust, intuitive therapy system that is precisely tailored to the requirements of animals (horses, dogs, cats) and can withstand the harsh outdoor conditions of everyday life in the stable or on the field.
Technical highlights:
- High-performance magnetic field generator with sufficient depth in the spectrum of action, up to 20 cm into the tissue.
- Intuitive touch panel with modern GUI control for quick selection of various treatment parameters such as type of therapy, treatment intensity, treatment duration and much more.
- Robust construction with sturdy handles, durable castors and compact dimensions – designed for use in stables and outdoors.
- Modular design with high serviceability – moving parts such as flaps and monitor hinges have been designed to be particularly durable.
