Our assembly lines are located at our headquarters in Pforzheim, right next to the development department. All devices are ‘made in Germany’.

Small quantities (1 – 100)

We also manufacture very small quantities – quickly, precisely and ideally suited for validating your product in practice.

Medium quantities (100 – 1,000)

The standard in medical technology and diagnostics: predictable supply through framework agreements and rolling forecasts, full traceability via our ERP system and flexible adjustments even during series production.

Large quantities (>1,000)

Thanks to semi-automated processes, standardised testing and stable supply chains, we also manufacture larger quantities reliably and economically – without compromising on quality or safety.

Production Numbers

Depending on complexity, we are equipped to manufacture quantities of up to approximately 5,000 units per year and device. If you require larger production capacities, we also have a solution for you in cooperation with our long-standing partners. DITABIS remains your point of contact and ensures the smooth production of your product.

Device Dimensions

We specialise in the assembly of small and medium-sized devices. Anything that ‘fits through the door’ can be manufactured for you at our premises.

Production of Devices Developed outside DITABIS

We are also happy to manufacture a device developed by you or by a third party. We can usually provide you with an initial cost estimate based on the drawings, the BOM and assembly instructions.

Packaging & Shipping

On request, we can deliver the products to you or your logistics partner in packaging developed in consultation with you. The devices are delivered ready for the customer, with all the necessary country-specific instructions, accessories and small parts.

Special products, such as the fluorescence microscopes we manufacture, are of course also delivered to end customers securely packaged and customs cleared.

Our proximity to the A8 motorway, Stuttgart Airport and the Rhine port in Karlsruhe creates ideal conditions for efficient logistics

Depending on the device and your requirements, we also tailor our pricing models to your needs. We offer models with fixed unit costs as well as tiered pricing. We ensure particular transparency with pricing models based on the open-book principle.

Our location on “Wilferdinger Höhe” in Pforzheim is surrounded by highly specialised companies – from machinists to surface coaters and injection moulders to PCB assemblers.
We have a broad network of excellent suppliers with whom we have been working successfully for decades. This ensures low costs, high flexibility, reliable redundancy and delivery reliability.

1. Does DITABIS also produce small quantities?

Yes. Our production facilities are specially designed for small and medium-sized series. This enables us to manufacture your product flexibly, economically and in compliance with ISO 13485 – from a few units to larger series. Typically, the annual production volume ranges from 1 to 4,000 devices of one type, depending on size and complexity.
If larger quantities are required, we offer our customers a turnkey solution in collaboration with our partners.

2. Does DITABIS also handle the production of externally developed devices?

Yes. Many customers entrust us with products that were not developed by us. We handle the series production of external developments, including testing concepts, quality management, logistics and worldwide shipping.

3. How does DITABIS ensure quality in production?

Our processes are ISO 13485 certified. In addition, based on our ERP system, we utilise traceability options (e.g. batch and serial numbers), incoming goods inspection, first-pass yield, intermediate and final inspections, and semi-automated processes. This ensures that every device is fully documented and tested.

Our manufacturing is primarily based on careful manual assembly, which is ideal for complex devices and small quantities. Where appropriate, we use semi-automated processes and test systems to increase out-put, efficiency and reproducibility.

We take care of all supplier coordination, including quality management and incoming goods inspection, have our own warehouse and finance materials to a certain extent. You also benefit from our global supplier network, which ensures delivery, reliability and flexibility.

Yes. With framework agreements and rolling forecasts, we can secure capacity in the long term while remaining flexible enough to respond to changes. This ensures planning reliability, cost control and security of supply.
